I designed two bespoke dresses for Elena’s Cyprus wedding, and while they were very different, they each reflected her style and the sophistication of her character. She got married on the beach next to a 1960s hotel, and it was clear that vintage flair and simple elegance were crucial. For her ceremony dress, we kept things very understated, using really clean, sleek lines and minimalist design in ivory silk crepe. Then it was time to pay homage to the 1940s with her reception dress, and specifically the Dior fashions from that era. We worked on a design for a light and lovely layered organza skirt, and a silk crepe top with a deep V neck that flared slightly at the hips. 1940s Dior via 21st century Cyprus. Perfection!
